The promotion of safety and quality in the medication processes is important in nursing practice and healthcare. Issues such as medication administration errors predispose patients to unintended adverse outcomes. This toolkit is an annotated bibliography of an improvement plan aimed at enabling nurses to implement and sustain quality and evidence-based strategies to prevent and minimize medication administration errors. The tool kit is organized into four themes that relate to the objective, with three annotated sources for each category. The four themes are as follows: information technologies, culture change, professional strategies, and educational strategies.
